A Revisionist's Very Short History of Western Thought---
I haven't got time to read the first chapter, but i read through first and second paragraphs.
"Western thoughts" usually associated with the culture tradition that traces origin to Greek thought and Abrahamic religion. In the first chapter, it mentions that the study of Western thought and its rhetoric is not how the whole world and all cultures work, but through the time from Greeks to Romans.
In the second paragraph, it shows that the history of ancient Greece reflects the history of the Greek economy. Moreover, i can't even imagine that the wealthy landowners held power, people could produce a livelihood from the slow-growing olive trees and vineyards. I had never think of this happened.
I'll look forward to seeing what you think about the rest of the chapter.
