Classic Rhetoric Now (CH.2 p.23-28)

At first, the beginning of chapter two talks about the differences of Define and Explain.These two words can be very different from their Latin roots. For example, Define means to make finite, such as "confine." Explain gets more expansive sense from the ex-. To make things more clear, we explain it.
 After, in this chapter it will offer us tips not only for how to write, but also for how to go about thinking. However, we can still keep our own thinking, just learning other method of thinking. Later, the chapter talks a little bit about one of the Plato's dialogue, Phaedrus. And later lead to how Plato said about writing, such as useful tips and ideas for writing. Also, writing relate to clothing, language, and cultural. So chapter two mentions the history of ancient Greeks. The biggest issue was gender. At first, the women have more power. Nevertheless, the men took their power away.
